Making breakthroughs in a new field of textiles!
Textile engineering and textile technology students at #NCStateWilson spent the school year developing new methods for testing the durability of screen-printed and embroidered electronic textiles in their Senior Design course! For them, the opportunity to collaborate and learn together while discovering an unfamiliar field of textiles has been a very rewarding experience.

Wilson grad and Forbes 30 Under 30 ✅
Ritika Shamdasani and her brand Sani have found great success during and after her time at the Wilson College of Textiles.
Sani was built while Ritika was a full-time student and its designs are now featured in Nordstrom and Rent the Runway and have grown beyond wedding wear with plans to expand into home decor and entertainment.

As part of their Senior Design project, these textile engineering and textile technology students at #NCStateWilson set out to develop reusable menstruation and incontinence underwear under P&G that exceeds the quality of current commercial products.

BTS of our very own Lainey Volz’s magical winning collection at the AATS Fashion Exposé!
Take a peek at how she channeled the grace and elegance of fairytales through this process that taught her “invaluable organizational skills.”
Lainey shared with us, “Not only did I have to create a timeline to get all six looks created in a timely manner, but I needed to consider all of the other elements of running a fashion show from a photoshoot to finding a makeup artist to model rehearsals. I poured my heart and soul into creating this collection, and I am so incredibly honored to take home first place!”

The Textile Pioneers Scholarship was founded to support students from rural areas of the state who have a strong interest in the textile industry. Our first group of graduates are ready to make their marks with their degrees in hand.
