PCC | Medical Sciences Concentration
Medical science is of fundamental importance to the health and well-being of all people. The Medical Sciences concentration within the unique Bachelor of Science in Polymer and Color Chemistry (PCC) degree program is designed to help students interested in an applied science degree with the flexibility to take a variety of biomedical-related courses that will help them succeed in a medical-related career.
The concentration was established several years ago in response to students wishing to complete all pre-requisites for a successful application to medical school or other professional health-based programs. Students completing this concentration with a good GPA have been successful in gaining entrance into medical schools.

Students in the Medical Sciences concentration have a flexible set of courses that they can select for their specific medical-related interests, including:
- Biology (multiple courses)
- Genetics

- Statistics for the biological sciences
- Undergraduate research in medical science and technologies
The Details
- The program is designed to be flexible to allow for a variety of medical-related interests.
- While engineering calculus and physics are encouraged non-engineering calculus and physics are accepted.
- A minimum of C- is required to successfully pass CH101, CH221, CH222, CH223, CH224, CH331 or TE303, PCC106, PCC301.
- Advised Electives Group 1: Select one from ARE201, EC201, EC205.
- Advised Electives Group 2: Select one from BIO212, BIO250, BIO414, MB411, GN311, ST311, MT366, MT381, MT432.
- PCC Electives: Select one from PCC402, PCC407, PCC410, PCC420, PCC462, PCC466, PCC471, PCC474, PCC490, PCC492C.
