Sophia Stacy (FTD-FD ‘27) not only had an invaluable adventure but also gained connections, industry knowledge and a new outlook on her studio time while she attended U of NYFW earlier this semester.
“Applying my experience from the Wilson College of Textiles allowed me to appreciate the intersection of creativity and technical skills required in the fashion world,” Sophia says. “Many of my experiences at Wilson College of Textiles have given me the confidence to engage in meaningful conversations with industry professionals and contribute valuable insights based on my education and training.”

First-year circle skirts! 🎨
In their first year at Wilson, fashion and textile design students work on the annual color project in FTD 104. Beginning with sketching their ideas on paper, they then create the patterns and images for the skirts in Clo, a 3D fashion design software program creating virtual, true-to life garment visualization!
