The World of Textiles Awaits
It's a multibillion-dollar global industry that's integrated into everything we do — and you could drive the field's next big advancements.
Leading the Way in Textiles Education
Textiles are all around us: from the playing field to the runway, shielding first responders from danger or even shoring up a human heart. At the Wilson College of Textiles, we teach you to apply textiles thinking to the grand challenges facing our world.
By the time you leave here, you’ll know there are thousands of ways to use what you’ve learned in a career that you’ll love. And because ours is the only college on this continent solely focused on textiles, our graduates are among the most sought-out anywhere.

Happy Mother’s Day Wilson! We’re sending love to all moms today but a little extra love to our #NCStateWilson moms.
Sherry McCraw (‘90) graduated with a degree in textile engineering and continued to work at BMW for over 30 years and earned the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2024. So it was no surprise she would inspire her own daughter, Maris McCraw, to fall in love with the college that shaped her.
“My mom’s journey at the College of Textiles inspired my own by allowing me to hear about what a great experience she had and how her degree really has made a difference. Now I’m lucky enough to get to study at the same college that helped make her the incredible woman she is, and I couldn’t be prouder to continue on her legacy,” Maris says
Take a look through Sherry’s time and her daughter’s time at Wilson.

Now she’s starting her dream career in buying.
“It’s more than just sitting at a desk. I just love the idea of being able to select products and then know that consumers are liking them too,” she says.
