Since 2009, Kam has used her web and print writing, social media management, and graphic design skills to inspire key audiences at top-ranked universities, including The Ohio State University and UNC Charlotte, to act. Audiences have been encouraged to give financially, reconnect with their alma maters, and make the most out of their college experiences.
Before joining the North Carolina Textile Foundation, Kam served as the alumni and development communications coordinator at UNC Charlotte. In that role, she served as a liaison between University Communications and University Advancement, which includes Development, Annual Giving, Donor Relations, Planned Giving, and the Alumni Association. Prior to that position, she served as UNC Charlotte’s coordinator of alumni communications — the sole communicator for the university’s Alumni Association.
Prior to her work at UNC Charlotte, she served as a communications coordinator at her alma mater, Ohio State, for eight years. While there, she worked in communications within the College of Education and Human Ecology and the College of Engineering, specifically in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication and a master’s degree in public policy and management from The Ohio State University.

Honors and Awards
- CASE Circle of Excellence Award (2025) Silver — The Wilson College of Textiles’ woven quasquicentennial bookmark, created as a unique stewardship gift for the college’s 125th anniversary, received a Silver CASE Circle of Excellence Award. I translated the detailed hand-drawn design into a vector file for production. The international awards program recognizes excellence in educational advancement and is presented by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
- CASE Best of District III Award (2025) — The Wilson College of Textiles’ woven quasquicentennial bookmark was awarded a Best of District III Award, presented by CASE.
- CASE Circle of Excellence Award (2023) Bronze — The North Carolina Textile Foundation's End-of-Campaign Impact Report, which I authored, designed and edited within 45 days to meet a tight deadline, was awarded a Bronze Circle of Excellence Award, presented by CASE.
